Dear friends in the UK,

Greetings from FFI and The Friendship Force of Greater Manchester!

Plans are well underway for our 40th Anniversary World Conference in Manchester this August. It's shaping up to be an amazing event with representatives from 26 countries already registered and two incredible celebrity speakers confirmed. As we look back on 40 years of Friendship Force history and make exciting plans for our future, we would love to see as many of our UK friends there as possible.

On March 2 FFI's sent out an announcement about reduced fees for the World Conference and optional gala banquet:

  • Original conference fee: £360  -  New price:  £320!
  • Original gala banquet fee: £80  -  New price: £55!

These amazing discounts are possible due to our having secured corporate sponsorship for our 40th anniversary celebrations. It's an exciting development and we are thrilled at the prospect of more of you being able to join us at these lower prices. And if you've already paid for the conference, don't worry. You can get a refund of the difference, or donate it towards a conference scholarship for someone from Nepal, Uganda, Peru or other countries.

But there's even more good news for our British friends! As members of the conference host country you are all eligible for a further £20 discount off the conference fee, which means you can attend the conference for the low price of £300, a £60 discount off the original price!  To register for the world conference simply enter ukhosts2017 in the discount code box on the first page of the registration form .

Will you share this announcement with all your clubs members, as well as members of your community who might be interested to learn about Friendship Force and become involved in our organization's important work at home and around the world? The conference is an excellent tool for recruiting as there's lots to learn and plenty of new friendships to be made.

Finally, we’ll have a special opportunity for Jeremi and members of the staff and board to meet with UK members on August 24th.  Infusing a more international approach towards the business of FFI has been a top focus since Jeremi joined the organization in 2015.  Revitalization of the UK network is vital to realizing our success - and there is still much work to be done here. This action-oriented meeting seeks to outline our plans, and how members, clubs and FFI's goals can align to achieve this. I hope you will join us for an hour on August 24 at 3:30 pm in the Lancaster Suite at the Midland Hotel for this special, UK-only meeting.

If you've any questions about the conference, please don't hesitate to contact the Conference Director, Debbie Powell, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We look forward to seeing you in Manchester!
